Mountain West, Conference USA and Big East to talk about Super Conference
Reports are circulatting that the commissioners from the Big East Conference, the Mountain West Conference and Conference USA are to meet Wednesday to discuss the formation of a 28- to 32- team super conference to try to gain automatic Bowl Championship Series status. The Mountain West and Conference USA already have agreed to merge by either next year or in 2013 and the recent developments concerning the Big 12 invite to West Virginia could play a major factor in the Big East giving it serious consideration.

No h/t for me?
JM- this is most probably outside of the BE conference, with WVU gone Air Force/Navy and Boise would be stupid to join…
w/o those schools the Big East’s best chance is to either…
A: drop football, and let their fb schools play in the MtnUSA uber super duper conference
(which the bball school may like since they won’t need to dilute their bball product w/ UCF, UH, SMU)
or
B: try to take the best schools from CUSA and work with the MWC to keep its BCS bid
either way if Lville and Cinncy (or ND) join the Big 12, BE fb is dead…

It would all fall into place (for college football as a whole)if two more BE schools just left and it just collapses.
in a last ditch effort to save the BE they try to make a superconference with the WAC and Sun Belt. :- }
Public Enemy #1 and enjoying every minute of it. Tapology.
