The College Football season is drawing closer to the end as we now enter Week 8 of our Pick Em' game. With their only being 13 weeks in the regular season, the time to start making a push for a guaranteed playoff spot is right now. A little reminder on how the playoffs and seeding work:

The first 13 weeks of the season decide who gets the seven guaranteed spots. You must (obviously) be in the Top 7 of the standings at the end of the first 13 weeks in order to get a guaranteed spot. As for the eighth spot in the playoffs, that is an entirely different animal.

In Conference Championship week, every participant who has submitted picks for at least 8 of the 13 weeks is eligible for the final spot. Only your conference championship week record is counted towards eighth spot eligiblity. For example, if I miss five weeks of the season and play for a total of eight weeks of the season and get the best record for Conference Championship week, then I would receive the eighth slot even though others who were not in the Top 7 had a better overall average from the previous thirteen weeks then myself.

Anyways, back to this week in which joe bob priddy received the Bonus/Tiebreaker for being the only one to correctly choose Michigan State and submit a tiebreaker score (Jeremy Mauss also correctly picked Michigan State but had not submitted a tiebreaker score).

A couple of bad weeks by the leaders and some good weeks by some contestants lower in the standings allowed for a four-way tie to be created for the top of the standings. This should create some interesting drama over the next few weeks.
