The semifinals are set with this matchup of Stanford against Auburn and the other being Boise State at TCU. This matchup of Stanford's Andrew Luck against Auburn's Cam Newton would be a great matchup. Luck is an excellent thrower and would really challenge the Auburn's secondary which seems to be their weakness, while Cam Newton would do what he does best and that is make plays while making defenses look silly.
What if Sports has Stanford winning a close one 23-21. Stanford actually rolled out with a 23-7 lead before Auburn roared back in the fourth quarter with 14 points, but ultimately came up short. They have Andrew Luck passing for 391 yards and two touchdowns. Plus, the Stanford defense was able to slow down Cam Newton as he only had 13 rushing yards and 117 passing yards.
