2010 College Basketball Rankings: BYU Moves Up To Number Nine In The Coaches Poll

Mountain West basketball is getting a lost of respect as BYU moved up a spot to number nine spot after they easily defeated Utah and received some help with Purdue losing a game last week. San Diego State is still at the six spot, and there was some thinking that they would move into the top five after Duke lost, but no such luck in that.

UNLV received eight votes in the coaches poll and continues to live just on the outside of both polls, but they still look to be a good bet to make the NCAA tournament.

I really expected SDSU to crack the Top 5 this week with two quality wins coupled with losses by Duke and Pitt. Disappointing, but hopefully this keeps the boys hungry for more.

If SDSU can beat BYU in Provo

then I think you could make the case that they should be #1 in the country.
