Around SBN: Knicks 90, Raptors 87: "Shump and Lin wouldn't let us lose."

Against The Spread: Week 2

After an inauspicious debut I'm looking to right the ship in a big way this week and anything less than 4-1 will be a huge disapointment in my eyes.

Last Week: 2-4-1

THURSDAY

#20 Auburn -2 @ Mississippi St.
This game is going to be more about the "Jimmy's and Joe's" than the "X's and 0's" and simply put Auburn is the more talented team, and it ain't even close.  Look for Cameron Newton to make the big plays when it counts, this game might be close on the scoreboard but I expect Auburn to be in control the whole way.

(Saturday picks after the jump)

SATURDAY

#24 BYU +1 @ Air Force
Air Force hasn't beaten BYU since 2003 and with Air Force likely to be without CB Reggie Rembert my head says take the Cougars though my heart is rooting hard for the Falcons.

#1 Alabama -12 vs. #14 Penn State
Penn State freshman quarterback Robert Bolden is in for a baptism by fire when he walks into Bryant-Denny Stadium on Saturday.  This one has massacre written all over it and I look for 'Bama to be covering by halftime.

Texas Tech -24.5 @ New Mexico
Los Lobos got demoralized 72-0 by the Ducks last weekend and I don't expect this game to be much different.  51-10 Red Raiders.

#16 USC -19.5 vs. Virginia
I'm looking for  the USC defense to step it up in a big way against a Cavalier team whose body clocks are going to be registering midnight by haltime in this 10:30 ET kickoff.  Look for USC to pile on bigtime in the second half.

I think MSU will surprise some people this year. Maybe not in this game, but they’ll pull a big upset and make a bowl – I’d put my money on it.

I took Auburn at 2.5 before game time

I’m not impressed by MSU’s athletes, and Malzahn is a guru (even more so now that he has weapons).

You chose wisely

Ha...I'm working nights this week

and I was watching a choppy ESPN3 feed from my mobile internet on my laptop. I was jumping around like an idiot on that last drive!
