TCU Round Up

Dallas-Fort Worth showed their support for the Frogs by turning on their televisions in droves on Saturday night.

Saturday's prime-time game from Cowboys Stadium, a 30-21 TCU win over Oregon State, averaged 291,811 D-FW viewers in wiping out all competing programming.

After Lee Corso declared that "TCU would lose by 3 touchdowns" to Oregon State on ESPN College Gameday Gary Patterson made sure that Corso knew he was watching.

"You guys just thought that was just a bogus text in the middle of the day. That was me," Patterson told reporters after his team's 30-21 victory at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. "I asked (host) Chris Fowler, I said: 'Lee, three touchdowns, question mark.'"

Oregon State Coach Mike Riley came to the same realization that most everybody does after facing TCU.

The Horned Frogs, Riley said, were "maybe one of the fastest teams we've ever faced."

TCU Defensive Coordinator receives national honor.

Rivals.com has named TCU's Dick Bumpasas its National Coordinator of the Week following the Horned Frogs' 30-21 win over Oregon State.  In his seventh year as TCU's defensive coordinator and defensive line coach, Bumpas was instrumental in the Horned Frogs limiting the Beavers to just 13 first downs, 255 yards of offense and a 4-of-11 mark on third-down conversions.  TCU held Oregon State star Jacquizz Rodgers to 75 yards rushing on 18 carries. The Beavers finished with 73 yards on the ground, while quarterback Ryan Katz completed just 9-of-25 passes for 159 yards.

TCU finally delivering DFW?

That’s great news for the TV Contract… If TCU can turn that many heads during the season, then the TV Deal value will go way up.

that is good news but the tcu defense is not as dominant as last year and misses hughes and washington.

plus dalton got rattled again and threw some picks. the utah crowd will get to him and utah will win the revenge game. i say utah goes undefeated and tcu goes 11-1

I'm all about covering the spread and moneylines. Glory favors the bold. Chance favors the prepared mind. Luck, well i have that too. University of Utah goes to the Pac-12 conference in 2011. I expect them to compete immediately for the conference CG. Brock Lesnar will defeat Cain Velasquez. Womens MMA, the next big thing in sports. Utah and Boise take care of business in week one. Don't be surprised if they both go undefeated.

It's going to be tough

for the D to be as dominant as last year considering they were #1 in the nation. Breaking in the new defensive ends and corners is going to take some time, but they will be up to speed come November for the Utah game. I just hope both teams take care of business until then so that game can receive the noteriety it deserves.

"Football is a violent game played by violent people, so put a smile on your face, murder in your heart and lets go kick these f***kers in the mouth" -Dick Bumpas, TCU Defensive Coordinator

too bad

The mtn is impossible to get there, but since only one of their 12 games is on the mtn they should be ok.

If TCU can start to gain the kind of interest they generated last game

for the rest of the season, TV Providers will put The Mtn. on a higher tier. Would be huge for a struggling MWC TV Deal.

That's a big if, but hopefully they can deliver.

It’s like I’ve said before, it’s amazing what winning will do for a program. I don’t care which program it is, and how badly they do at delivering the market. When they start to win, and do it consistently, people start to watch.
