Oregon also jumped TCU in this poll, Utah stays put as LSU jumps Utah for beating West Virginia, and Texas fell completely off the map which makes me happy; the Longhorns drop from seven to twenty-one in the AP poll. For some reason Michigan State is 24th where Nevada is 25th. Michigan State has beaten Florida Atlantic, Western Michigan, Northern Colorado and Notre Dame; all of those teams have a combined record of 5-9. However, Northern Colorado is an FCS team and three of the five wins -- and a loss -- from Michigan State opponents come from below the FBS level.
Nevada's opponents are Eastern Washington BYU, Cal and Colorado State; pretty close. These combined records of 6-10 with three wins and a loss coming from the FCS level. OK, so maybe they are fairly equal and should be ranked where they are. It could be that Nevada is more exciting to watch.
Oh, and Boise received a first place vote. Plus, I have some time today to post some crazy AP ballots.
