Against the Spread: Week 1
Thursday
Utah -3 v. Pittsburgh
I look at this game like this-- would you rather be breaking in a new defense at home or a new QB on the road? Utah will have the offense to stay one step ahead of the Panthers the whole way and the rowdy crowd in Rice-Eccles should take care of the rest.
USC -21 @ Hawaii
The Trojans have plenty of pent up aggression after a tumultuous off-season, and jet-lag be damned they are going to unleash the fury on the helpless 'Bows.
Minnesota -1 @ Middle Tennessee State
No Dwight Dasher? Big problem. Life lesson learned- don't borrow gambling money from octogenarians.
Saturday
CSU +12 v. CU
More often then not this game ends up coming down to the wire, take the points.
Washington +3 @ BYU
Jake Locker's revenge coupled with a BYU squad distracted by expansion talks equals a tough loss for the Cougars.
TCU -13 v. Oregon State
Anytime you have a QB making his first career start on the road against a Gary Patterson coached defense you can go ahead and lay the points.
Boise State -2.5 v. Virginia Tech
Virgina Tech has an impressive running game but it won't be enough to keep pace with the Broncos.

I love TCU winning the game, but laying 13 against a Pac-10 title contender? That’s monstrous.
I’d be happiest to bet on the CU/CSU game, getting 12 on the Rams is exceptional.
Disagree
You are buying into the BC$ hype… Oregon State was a PAC 10 title contender when they got smacked by BYU in the Vegas bowl, and this Beaver squad is breaking in a new QB.

I just dont think its not going to be a blowout
Mountain West Connection The best site for MWC sports!
Clemson was an ACC contender with numerous question marks last year, and even though we dominated the game, we didn’t blow them out. We didn’t even really blow out a terrible Virginia team. TCU typically wins its BCS-caliber opponent games, or at least keeps it close, but they don’t tend to blow them out. That’s why the +13 seems a good play.
Also the Rogers bros. are really quite good. We’ll still win though.
We'll see
what happens on Friday. Not sure Clemson is a good comparison as that game was in Death Valley in the rain…. Plus I will take 2009 Clemson over 2010 Oregon State any day of the week
