Against the Spread: Week 3
Last Week: 3-2
Overall: 5-6-1
Right now I am a combined 0-4 when picking BYU & USC games. If I was smart I would stay away but I just can't resist this week's lines for each team, so buyer beware.
Florida State -10 vs. BYU
After completely dismantling BYU in Provo last year I don't see much changing in 2010, especially considering BYU's quarterback situation. If I was a BYU fan I would want Heaps out there taking his lumps instead of Riley Nelson running around like a chicken with his head cut-off. Which might work if Nelson was as fast as he thinks he is, but in reality he is just fast for a kid from Utah and FSU's "speed state" kids are going to make that perfectly clear on Saturday. 38-13 FSU
Nebraska -3 @ Washington
I talked to Admiral Ackbar about this game and he assured me that "It's a trap!" but I'm taking it anyway. Nebraska and Washington basically on different planets athletically and I see the "black shirts" shutting down Mel Kiper's wet dream of a quarterback Jake Locker with relative ease. 24-10 Nebraska
Texas -3 @ Texas Tech
Tommy Tuberville just doesn't have the caliber of athletes yet to play the type of football that we wants, especially on defense. 31-20 Texas
Iowa -1.5 @ Arizona
Iowa is just to physical for the Wildcats, Iowa is gonna punch them in the mouth on every single snap and Arizona will be checked out by the 2nd half. 35-24 Iowa
USC -12 @ Minnesota
Memo to the Trojans: WAKE THE **** UP! Minnesota just lost to an FCS school so if they can't cover 12 on a middling Gopher squad then USC is officially dead to me. 41-9 USC
Honorable Mentions:
Games that I like but didn't quite make the cut
SDSU +14 @ Mizzou
Navy -3 @ La Tech
Wyoming + 23.5 vs. Boise State
Baylor + 22 @ TCUJ

you might do well this week b/c i have the same picks except i got zona.
plus i got fsu at -9.5 pts and usc at -11.5 pts. these are the vegas odds and i will add more. cal moneyline over nevada. (its -135) . houston -3 over ucla. easiest game of the day. uconn -6 over temple. east carolina +20 over va. tech. last year was close game and va tech is 0-2. wake forest +17 vs stanford. notre dame +3 vs msu. n.d. qb d. chist will play. kansas st. -3.5. utah -22 vs n.m. new mexico has given up 126 pts in two games. if utah does not put on at least 42 i will be surprised. bama -24 vs duke. with ingram back and their other star dp back i see a beatdown of the below average acc. richardson and ingram will probably run both for 100 yards. what is funny is i usually like getting the pts but some weeks it is the favorites who will come out on top.
I'm all about covering the spread and moneylines. Glory favors the bold. Chance favors the prepared mind. Luck, well i have that too. University of Utah goes to the Pac-12 conference in 2011. I expect them to compete immediately for the conference CG. Brock Lesnar will defeat Cain Velasquez. The most hated and misunderstood person on the MMA blogs.. Utah and Boise take care of business in week one. Don't be surprised if they both go undefeated.

add kansas +5.5 pts vs southern miss. that game and the cal game are tomorrow.
i think we will see 5 non aq bcs schools beat aq’s. tcu, houston, smu, air force (my real gamble for the day. +19 just in case) possibly sdsu. mizzou has not impressed me either but sdsu has a problem of grabbing a defeat out of the jaws of victory.

I like SDSU getting two scores at Mizzou a lot more than I like betting USC. Minnesota’s offense actually has performed pretty well so far this season, the D has just fallen in on itself. I think that Minny can run the ball and clock enough where the number of possessions will be low and the odds of a blowout soften somewhat. I wouldn’t be confident enough to bet on Minny covering, but not confident enough to bet on Kiffin’s boys either.
California Girls
Are the best.
I want evil Otto the Orange as SU's mascot.
