San Diego State had a relatively good season last year in Brady Hoke's first year, but this year many are expecting the Aztecs to go bowling. Last season's 4-8 campaign could have been a bowl season if they had won a couple of close games. This season, they have All-MWC first team wide receiver Vincent Brown and a 3,500 yard passer in Ryan Lindley.
The Cougars are coming off a season in which they were actually in talks of going to a BCS Bowl, but losing twice did not help their causes and instead went to the Las Vegas Bowl in which they destroyed Oregon State. The Cougars lost their starting QB in Max Hall and the NCAA's leading rusher in Harvey Unga. Many people have said this is going to be a down year for BYU, but Bronco Mendenhall has been in this position before, and done well in it.
BYU should win this game, but it should also be close. With SDSU returning great offensive talent and BYU losing great offensive talent, this game should be much closer than it was as of late.
San Diego State is ranked 91st while BYU is ranked 45th in theSporting News Top 100. This game has a 4:00 P.M. MT kick and will be televised on The Mtn. and The Mtn. HD.
Voting begins at 11:00 A.M. MT every morning and lasts 24 hours.
