New Mexico's Darington Hobson Selected By Milwaukee

SB Nation's Milwaukee Bucks site Brew Hoop talks about their pick of Darrington Hobson.

Hobson often operated as a point forward at New Mexico, where he played one season following two years of junior college ball. Perhaps a bit of 3/4 tweener, the 6'7" Hobson led New Mexico in scoring (15.9 ppg), rebounding (9.3 rpg) and assists (4.6 apg), the first player in the program's history to accomplish the feat. He'll turn 23 in September and scouts question whether he's athletic enough to keep up with NBA small forwards, but he's a savvy guy who the Bucks saw up close on June 16 when he worked out against first round picks Luke Babbitt, Gordon Hayward, and Lazar Hayward.

I think Hobson will be fine athletically to keep up in the NBA.

i know this does not relate to college basketball but how come new mexico's

football program is on probation?

Academic Fraud

Former assistant coaches Lenny Rodriguez and Grady Stretz had told three prospects and one student-athlete to enroll and help improperly get a course credit at Fresno Pacific College, it gets worse. The coaches had the three recruits use a home address of one of the coaches brothers who lives in California and the coaches phone numbers were listed as the recruits phone numbers. They got the recruits the credit they needed by having a friend, a professor at FPC give them the credit without ever doing work or going to class. UNM was the third school that was caught using the Fresno Pacific dummy credit course. Good thing Coach Locks is a great recruiter or we will be knee dip in the shissshh.

Hobson landed in a good place in Milwaukee. There a young team who isn’t that good at shooting but hustle really well just like Hobson hahaa. All laughter aside he should make the team and he will prove that he could play with the rest of the NBA.
