VIDEO: Utah To Pac-10 What Does It Bring To The Pac-10
Of course Rod Gilmore has a problem with Utah joining the Pac-10. Talking about what Utah brings outside of on the field performance, hey Rod the only reason Stanford is considered to be in a major market is because when you look up television market sizes they combine San Francisco, San Jose, and Oakland in the same grouping. All of those markets are all 20 miles away from Stanford, and it is not like Stanford owns that area anyways. Besides last year Stanford has not been relevant since 1999 which was their last conference title.

Dear Rod Gilmore
Here’s what Utah brings:
1) A 12th team for your conference to play a national title game
2) An expanded footprint and the largest market in a state that is experiencing population growth.
3) A BCS game win against the Big East and the SEC
4) For fun, let’s look at overall records for Utah and, let’s say, Stanford:
Utah: 617-421-31
Stanford: 562-432-50
Okay, fine. Historically it’s too long to look. Let’s go with the last decade, then, okay?
Utah: 86-36 (3 conference titles, 2 BCS appearances)
Stanford: 46-69 (No conference titles, no BCS appearances)
Yeah, I can’t possibly see what Utah brings to the table. Outside the field it brings growth potential and new eyeballs. On the field it brings better football than your alma mater.
Just be quiet.

YES, YES, YES
I love how he tries to shoo away Desmond Howard on a title game.

Rod Gilmore
doesn’t even deserve to be a college football analyst from what he said in that clip. Heck I could even make a better argument that the this isn’t good for the Pac-10 then him (although it isn’t).

WOW!
So Gilmore, a Stanford grad(?), puts forth a not uncommon opinion (basically Utah gains much more from this than the PAC 10) and your response is to attack Stanford. Really? I have only read this site a few times and always enjoyed your perspective on many issues, but this?
Thank you MWC Connection!
You have been amazing! I have to say I have loved reading your posts. Good luck to the MWC. I will still cheer for you and follow your news.
I may be moving on to the PAC 12 but I won’t forget where I came from.
