WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- The Pacific-10 has extended an invitation to the University of Utah to join the Conference. A press conference will take place in the Rice-Eccles Stadium tower at the University of Utah tomorrow at 1 p.m. MT/12 p.m. PT."

do utah and colorada start in 2011 or 2012 season?

one site i saw said the buffs will start in 2012 but on another i saw that utah would start in 2011 in the pac-12 conference.

2011

I wouldn’t see why they would start in 2012, just more penalties from the Big 12. Nebraska is starting 2011 because of the penalties they would have to deal with in the Big 12…

Actually it is more penalties if they leave in 2011 than 2012 for Colorado

Utah has no penalties, but with Colorado on the slate for 2012 Utah willl likely move on 2012 also. The original PAC 10 plan as to have the expansion set by December for implementation in 2012. they are ahead of schedule on setting the teams and now have a choice of pushing up the date to 2011.

With Nebraska already moving in 2011, Colorado might petition the PAC 10 to move up the expansion a year, something Utah can accomodate well, as the MWC has no penalties.

Hopefully

The Pac-10 keeps Utah from joining until 2012. That way they don’t completely screw the MWC… They give us an AQ then leave for the Pac-10… I’d be fine with that.
