Utah To Pac-10 Confirmed Via Las Vegas Review Journal

Another source is confirming the original Comcast report that Utah is on their way to the Pac-10. The Las Vegas Review Journal is also reporting that Utah is heading to the Pac-10:

Utah is on its way to the Pac-10, a Mountain West Conference source said Tuesday night. The source did not want to be named because an official announcement has not been made.

I hope you go 0-8 in the MWC next year so that losing you is less of a big deal for us in the BCS qualification.

That actually would help us

because then the Pac-10 gets horrible stats from Utah… if they go 0-8 in the MWC (not going to happen).

On the realistic side, when Utah either goes 11-1 or 12-0, all their stats will now be in the Pac-10 and put them out of reach for us to catch up unless the Pac-10 has a horrible year this year.

A little bit bitter there aren’t you HawkEye?. First of all I am a realist. Having said that , the reality at this point is Utah to the Pac-XX is NOT set in stone. I believe it will happen though. As far as the Pac-1o Comish denying reports, I think he just wants to announce it himself and not let other sources steal his thunder…I could be wrong though. Let us not forget, Utah was the Pac-10’s second choice scenario, therefore their not gonna be that anxious to chose Utah.
I know it sucks for the MWC to possibly lose Utah at this point but the fact of the matter is it IS a no-brainier decision. The Pac-XX not only offers Utah money deals but exposure that can’t be attained at this point (possibly ever) in the MWC. If Utah is offered a spot they WILL jump on it.

Utah themselves wasn't a second choice

Everybody that’s not UT was a second choice. Kansas was really only considered for basketball, and since they would have already got their prize.

Colorado has Denver…it’s really the main reason their in already.

I don’t think there was any bitterness there, I truly with Utah all the best once they’re in the Pac 10. However, while you’re in the MWC, I hope everyone beats you, as it’s better for my team and my conference’s long term health for you to not beat any of the Mountain West teams this year.

I’ll root for you in the Rose Bowls I’m sure you’ll achieve, but for this year, I hope you suck.

But the way I see it, this is the year Utah has to show what it’s made of. After all we want to show the Pac-XX that they made the right decision. (even if it was just a money move).
