There was speculation, but Utezone.com confirmed that Utah has given notice on the intention of leaving the Mountain West and heading to the Pac-10, if invited.

I guess you can't blame them for heading for "greener pastures" so to say
…but I’d be lying if I said I am not a little disappointed.
I gave up a life of crime, I gave it to a friend of mine
Congrats, Utah.
Can’t wait to see you guys win your first Rose Bowl much to the dismay of the rest of your conference and the entire Big Ten. Give ’em hell.
thats the assumption

That's kind of pretentious.
We’re not even invited yet, but if we are, f__k you! lol

Hahaha!
Well, pretentiousness is a common trait amongst the Pac 10 schools so Utah is already fitting in.
Pac-10 schools minus Oregon State.
They have some of the most polite, level-headed fans I have ever had the pleasure of meeting.

i personally wanted to stay with the boise state addition but i guess the writing is on the wall
perfect time for utah. colorado is not good anymore in football and usc in 2011 will start feeling the effects of the penalties they must cope with. plus jordan wynn will be in his third season so i think we can immediatly compete for the rose bowl berth. it will be nice to add a rose bowl win with are fiesta and sugar bowl trophy’s. how long do you think before we can get to the ncg? did you here the first usc player is transfering and on the boise blog they said his is going there. i expect 8 or 9 players to transfer before usc begins their football season.

It depends if they make the move in 2011 or 2012
CU is trying to push their timeline to 2011 to avoid $5M in penalties to the Big-12.
If they can get in in 2011, they should be able to compete right away. Although the rest of the Pac-10 will have had a 1 year jump on them in the “beat the USC clock” sweepstakes. 2012 will be a much tougher road for them.
Either way, I like Utah and welcome them to the Pac-10. They have the most to gain in this cluster f, and might end up having been the big winner in 3-5 years when this all comes full circle.
WSU
I spent a weekend at WSU once and they get after it.
Although I have a very hard time giving WSU praise because it produced Ryan Leaf.
It's understandable...
they have a tough time giving themselves praise as well.
I hate the school and the teams…but they have some good down to earth fans.
since this is locker's last season who is going to be the huskies qb come 2011?

Yeah, he should get to RS and start as a Frosh
Keith Price who is a RS FR this year is still in the mix.
Montana is more in the mold of Carson Palmer as a big dropback passer with some mobility.
Price is a bit like Locker was coming in, a great athlete with raw QB skills and huge upside. It looks like Montana is being groomed for the job, but nothing is set in stone.
To boot both of them will have a the best group of WR’s in the conference (maybe the nation by next year) led by Sr’s (in 2011) Jermaine Kearse and Devin Aguilar and Junior James Johnson.
They’ll also have a Jr 1000 yard back in Chris Polk and two of the breakout stars of this spring in true FR (2011 So) Deonte Cooper and Jesse Callier.
The O-line will be young, but it was a top 5 haul in this last class.
So whichever one ends up winning it after this season will be in good shape.
Now all we need is a defense and we’re a lock for the 2012 NC!

don james will be proud. did you hear that usc's first game of the year with
hawaii is in jeopardy? it has something to do with it being 13 games for the trojans(for 2010 season) and with the penalty’s the ncaa imposed on the trojans.

I've heard it's done
Which really sucks for UH because their AD is in pretty bad shape.
