The Jim Boylen vs. Gordon Monson Postgame Exchange
All BYU vs. Utah games seem to have some sort of dramatic side story.
In the post game press conference Wednesday following Utah's loss to BYU, Jim Boylen and Salt Lake Tribune writer Gordon Monson had bit of an exchange. Boylen was clearly upset, but his comments were probably uncalled for. You can go ahead and listen for yourself.

Once again the "class" card is pulled out by Gordon Monson, who Jim Boylen accuses of spotty Utah basketball coverage.
I wouldn't think too much of it. Yes, his comments were out of line, but it was following an embarrassing home loss. You could expect him to be frustrated.

CLASSIC!!
However, I can agree with both sides on this. I know Boylen was mad after a loss against his rival and then gets questions from Gordon who rarely covers them unless it is a big game or story line would be frustrating. Personally knowing Gordon some I think this is the first game he has been at this year and I am pretty confident he did not go to any last year since the Utes were pretty crappy.
Then on Monson’s side Utah has not been very good and since he is not the beat writer and more of a general columnist he should only go when it is a big game. They were fair questions to be asked. Overall just as I said in the title CLASSIC. Wonder if Boylen will go on 1280 the Zone anytime soon with his show.
Plus, it is pure heat of the moment I think, look how Boylen coaches on the court he sometimes is on his knees yelling, actually on the court, and is intense.
Monson strikes back
In his column today:
After Utah lost, 71-51, Utah coach Ray Giacoletti, er, Jim Boylen had no real explanations, muttering that the Utes “could not get a shot to fall.”

This first schedule type is for if the MWC expands and adds only Boise St. to make 10 schools. This scheduling type is based off of the chance of the NCAA Bylaw that states you must have 12 teams and 2 divisions in order to have a championship game gets changed. The Pac-10 is currently pushing for this to happen, and if it does, it makes the schedule type viable.

The no-huddle, quick-play action requires timing and execution in both the running and passing game and that is something the Lobos have lacked. If nothing else a huddle would give the defense more time to rest and keep the ball out of the hands of the opposing teams.
