#1 New Mexico Opens Their MWC Title Hopes Against #9 Air Force

The #8 nationally ranked New Mexico Lobos will look to avoid the upset from Air Force.  Air Force comes into the game ranked 9th in the Mountain West Conference and the Lobos are the favorites at #1.  The Lobos are on a 14 game run that led them to the MWC regular season title.  The Falcons won the play-in game against the Wyoming Cowboys 59-40 for the chance to play the Lobos.

The Lobos are lead by MWC player of the year Darrington Hobson and his 15.8 points, 9.1 rebounds, and 4.6 assist per game averages.  Hobson and the Lobos had a hard time beating the Falcons a few weeks ago as they squeezed out a 59-56 win at The Pit.  In the first meeting at Air Force the Lobos won easily by 23 points.

On paper this should be an easy win for the Lobos.  Games aren't played on paper so the Lobos will need to come in well prepared for the Falcons and beat them as easy as possible.  The tournament turns into a endurance contest with possibly three games in three days, four in four if your Air Force.  Getting dragged into an overtime game against Air Force could hurt their tournament championship dreams.

For Air Force there is nothing to lose.  Senior Grant Parker will be giving it his all along with the rest of the Falcons as they hope to make some noise.  You can never count out the Air Force Academy.

This game will be broadcast on The Mtn. in high def and tip is at 12PM pacific time.

Damn

I hate watching AF play. It is the worst style to watch, 34 second offense.

They can be boring

There is something nice about them realizing its their only shot as they would get smoked athleticly by any other team in the MWC. They play their style no matter who the opponent is.

It is semi effective as they have forced some close games against some good teams, just haven’t won them.

I think it depends on the talent

Six years ago when we had Nick Welch, Antoine Hood, AJ Kuhle it was palletable because those guys could run the Princeton offense well. They could all handle ball, hit open jumpers, and knew when to cut or pass to the cutter. When the team is much worse (like this year) it is bad to watch because it’s not efficient.

Did anyone watch the game in HD(AF and WYO)?

I watched a little bit, and at halftime there was no volume. Did anyone else that watched halftime, have the same problem?

No

But there were problems like that during football games that were in HD on The Mtn. Some commercials would have no volume.

I HATE THE MTN!!!

Ok, sorry. I vented. I’m through.

I'm a Rebel, but I bleed the cherry and silver of the Lobos.

With Apologies To Randy Edsall, The Big East Remains Mostly Harmless
