Making the Rounds: There is Always Football News

Pac-12? Coug Center examines the hiring of Kevin Weiberg as its chief operating officer here is what was said about Weiberg this is from San Jose Mercury News reporter Jon Wilner

"He has a very diverse and successful track record. In particular, in his experience as the Big 12 commissioner and an executive with the Big Ten Network, he has dealt with some of the most complicated issues — from expansion to TV networks to media rights in general."

"We’re looking at it very seriously. It wasn’t something identified for me by the presidents when I took the job. But it’s very natural as you look at the value of the conference from a media standpoint. If we were ever going to look at expansion, this would be the logical time."

That rumor a while back that had Boise, Fresno, and Nevada heading to the WAC is not what the Mountain West wants, because it would create divisional play.

Air Force: Falcons keep building their football team from Texas, and nearly a third came from the state in this years class.

BYU: 2010 signing day is in the past, but BYU just picked up their third recruit for the 2011 season in defensive lineman Moses Kaumatule.

Colorado State: Athletic Director Paul Kowalczyk gets a five year contract extension.  Of course Steve Fairchild is happy with the 2010 class.

Star-divide

New Mexico: Quarterback's coach Tee Martin is heading back to the SEC to coach the same position at Kentucky.

San Diego State: For the first time since the NCAA starting using the APR system the Aztecs are not being penalized for poor performance.  The running game was a key concern during this recruiting season.

TCU The Southwest Conference now has its own wing at the Texas Sports Hall of Fame (about time).

UNLV Tre'Von Williams has bigger goals then personal accomplishments.

Utah: Block U believes Utah will get the call to join the Pac-10 sometime this off season.

Wyoming Dual threat quarterback Jack Shull is interested in Wyoming and he is part of the 2011 class.
