Future Non-Conference Games: San Diego State

With the timeline now finalized for Fresno State and Nevada waiting an extra year in the WAC, questions about scheduling have now arrived for a number of schools with the MWC and WAC schools now requiring 5 non-conference games. I went to fbschedules.com and dug up tons of little nuggets as far as future non-conference games go... I'll list those here so that the people (myself included) who did not know about these games can find out. I'll simply go through the important non-conference games for the future years for MWC teams (Including Utah and BYU). There will be a post for each team on every Tuesday and Thursday and the posts will be in no specific order. If you want to find out which school's post is for that day, then follow us on Twitter for the information on when the post will be.

San Diego State

2011 Schedule - Cal Poly, @Army, Washington State, @Michigan

When I read that San Diego State was playing Michigan next season, I was ecstatic. Even though Michigan isn't a top 25 team, when SDSU beats Michigan in the big house the MWC will get a ton of recognition. One thing I just noticed, Michigan probably scheduled SDSU when they were horrible - it will be a big surprised when the Aztecs come into the Big House and put up a fight. I can easily see San Diego State going undefeated through this non-conference schedule. The only issue is that with the news of Nevada and Fresno St. joining in 2012, not 2011, SDSU now needs 5 non-con games for this season. I don't know who they'll schedule, but I would schedule another mid-level BCS opponent to make it a winnable game, but one that would give the MWC even more respect.

2012 Schedule - @Cincinnati, Army, North Dakota, San Jose State

Is it just me or does San Diego State like to schedule light? Cincinnati isn't even close to what they were last season and I'm not even sure whether or not SDSU will get any credit for that win at that point. Other three are sure wins. One thing is that they may have to drop an opponent since the conference schedule will be 9 games unless the MWC adds two other schools for this season.

2013 Schedule - @Utah State, @San Jose State, Oregon State

Probably the toughest of all their current schedules, Oregon State is top 25 material and Utah State is improving by the minute. Depending on whether or not the MWC expands past 10 at some point, This schedule may be full already and that would be a major disappointment since this will be Ronnie Hillman's senior season and I'm sure the team will be great, they could easily take on another BCS school and probably win.

Other Non-Conference games -

2014 - @Oregon State, @Navy

2015 - Navy

Bits on the 2014+ games -

Apparently SDSU isn't a fan of scheduling into the future... 2014 looks poised to be a tough schedule with two tough road games already scheduled.
