With the timeline now finalized for Fresno State and Nevada waiting an extra year in the WAC, questions about scheduling have now arrived for a number of schools with the MWC and WAC schools now requiring 5 non-conference games. I went to fbschedules.com and dug up tons of little nuggets as far as future non-conference games go... I'll list those here so that the people (myself included) who did not know about these games can find out. I'll simply go through the important non-conference games for the future years for MWC teams (Including Utah and BYU). There will be a post for each team on every Tuesday and Thursday and the posts will be in no specific order. If you want to find out which school's post is for that day, then follow us on Twitter for the information on when the post will be.
2011 Schedule - Montana State, @BYU, @Pitt
With Utah now being in the Pac-12, Utah only gets 3 non-conference games a year. Pitt and BYU aren't exactly respectable opponents, but what Utah now lacks in the non-conference, it will gain in the BCS Bias now that they are in the Pac-12. Look for the Utes to go undefeated through this non-conference schedule.
2012 Schedule - @Utah State, BYU
What's really surprising about Utah is they kept their rivalry with Utah State afloat. Keeping both rivalries in BYU and Utah State gives them only one non-conference game remaining. That aside, Utah has an opening in their 2012 schedule with Washington State now becoming a conference game. I'm really not sure where Utah should go on this one now that they will be in a BCS Conference, they won't have to try to schedule a BCS opponent with every opening they have. Although I would like to see Utah play another BCS opponent this season, it probably won't happen.
2013 Schedule - Utah State
Not much analysis here, just the next game in the Utah-Utah State rivalry and a lot of room for growth.
Other Non-Conference Games -
2014 - @Utah State
2015 - Utah State
Bits on the 2014+ Games -
I'm not sure why Utah doesn't like to schedule very far in advance, but it's evident they don't by the way they've scheduled. Scheduling only through 2012 (Other than Utah State) obvously shows that the Utes have some fear of scheduling anywhere down the line.
