The BCS has not fully divulged what thresholds must be met for the MWC to gain an automatic qualifying berth, which makes the whole process sound eerily like joining a fraternity.

FOIA
I wonder if filing a Freedom of Information Act request would require them to release all information to what the qualifications are. I think it is possible since most of the participants are public universities, and with all the money the BCS brings it should be allowed since the NCAA is technically non-profit but I am not sure about the BCS.
FOIA only applies to government entities, not quasi-government entities like defense contractors and private universities.
You can’t actually use it to get info from the NCAA, and you definitely cannot use it to get info from the BCS (which does not legally exist as an entity, as crazy as that sounds).

Thanks for that info
I just remember Andy Staples threatened to use it to reveal how the coaches voted in their weekly ballot.

And you could do that to a coach . . .
. . . especially one at a state-run school. Private schools that accept public funding are a little bit more gray area, but you couldn’t do it to the BCS, which is not a public institution (even if it is a group of public institutions) and accepts no public money.

What's funny is
Bill Hancock has revealed more to us here at MWC Connection than he has to anyone else.
About two weeks after my article, I read a similar one on ESPN.com where Bill Hancock refused to answer a question from Brad Edwards about the weight of the criteria.
ESPN
So, which is the most important of the three? Or are they all given equal weight?
“That’s more detail than I’m allowed to divulge,” Hancock said.
MWC Connection
There are three rules listed for determining AQ status. Is each rule given an equal weight? If not, which categories are “worth more?”
All are the same weight.
Hmmmmm…..
