Mid-Conference Season Evaluations - UNLV
UNLV has been a bit inconsistent this year, for a while they were at the top of the conference, being ranked for about 4 weeks, then they lost 2 straight times to USC and BYU. Their one bright spot is Tre'Von Willis who is averaging 24 ppg in conference season, 18 ppg overall for the Rebels, he is consistently a force for the Rebels and is a great free throw shooter that they can rely on. Ever since Chace Stanback got healthy, during conference season, he has become a consistent side kick to Willis that has been averaging 17 ppg this conference season. If UNLV can find some consistent post play, they can become a real power in the MWC.
I give UNLV an 85 at this point because they haven't proven that they can defeat the teams with the major talent and the don't have a consistent force in the post.
