Breaking Down Week Two of The Polls
The new polls are out with the AP and coaches and the MWC made some moves again. BYU keeps climbing up and the coaches poll voters fixed their mistake and jumped BYU past Boise. Couple that with loses to Oklahoma State and Ohio State and BYU is sitting at 9th in the coaches poll.
The AP poll they moved TCU up a spot to 15 and Utah down a spot to 18 after their lackluster performance over San Jose State. A surprise is that Colorado State still managed a vote in the AP poll after sneaking by FCS Weber State. BYU moved up a few spots to 7th in the AP poll.
A real surprise is how University of Houston is still in the others receiving vote category in the coaches poll, but 21 in the AP poll.
Check the polls after the jump.

Good week...
Its always a good week if you gain ground in the polls or stay even. I don’t see CSU or AF getting into the polls but if they are knocking on the door at the end of the year its a good thing. If either of those teams get in I think it would be at the expense of BYU, TCU, or Utah dropping low cause a loss to that team.
Without that last second field goal UNLV might have gotten a couple votes too.
the coaches do not want to put that many non bcs conference teams in the poll
the ap has it right. there are now five teams from non bcs conf. 3 from mwc, one wac team and one from conference usa. that might be a record number. i can’t remember more than four. houston should tear up confernce usa. only competition is tulsa. byu and tcu should cruise until they play in week 6th or seven. whoever wins that game i want that team to run the table regardless of alliances. it’s what’s best for the mountain west conference. ramble on!

Agreed
We all know the agendas coaches have in bumping up future opponents or teams from their league.
