If College Football Had a Playoff: #11 Virginia Tech Hokies @ #3 Cincinnati Bearcats

The previous matchup was Oregon against Texas with the Longhorns running away in that contest.  This newest matchup features a rematch of last years Orange Bowl that had the Hokies taking care of business.  We all know Cincinnati can score a ton of points while their defense is suspect, but how good would they do against a good Virginia Tech defense.

The Bearcats should still be able to get their points on the board but their typical 35-50 point game might not be there since this would be the best defense they have faced all year.  Plus, the Hokies have RB Ryan Williams who is a stud and would be a pain in the Bearcats side all day.

Star-divide

Time to turn to What if Sports to see what they think the outcome will be.  They predict a slim win by Cincinnati 19-16 which would be a season low for the Bearcats.  Virginia Tech would use their running game which amassed for nearly 300 yards with Ryan Williams pulling in 195.  The passing game would have been Tech's down fall with under 100 yards in the air.

While Cincy would play the opposite game with Tony Pike who would toss for 342 yards and two scores.  The difference in the game would be the quick 10-0 lead that Cincinnati put on the board in the first quarter.

Now it is time for the fan vote to decide who moves on, yes that is you.  Check back daily at 12 PM eastern time to vote for the next matchup, and voting is only for 24 hours.  As they say in Chicago vote early and vote often.
