If College Football Had a Playoff: #7 Oregon Ducks @ #2 Texas Longhorns

The previous matchup between #4 TCU and #12 Penn State was a bitter battle that ultimately lead to a TCU victory and a spot in the semi's against Alabama.

This matchup might see the scoreboard explode with Oregon traveling to Texas in the highlight match of the quarterfinals. Texas will attempt to protect Colt McCoy better then they did against Nebraska and should be able to since Oregon does not have a defensive front as dominant as Nebraska. McCoy will throw and throw some more mixed in with a little running game to keep the Ducks honest.

Oregon would use Chip Kelly's spread offense with RB LaMichael James and QB Jeremiah Masoli would run the ball against a Texas defense which really has not seen an offense this good outside of Texas Tech.

Star-divide

Time to turn to What is Sports for their projected outcome in this matchup.  What if projects a Texas to win by a score of 34-19. Texas was lead by Heisman finalist Colt McCoy with an average game of 282 yards, three picks, and two scores; with most of that going to The Roommate Jordan Shipley with 122 yards.

Now it is time for the fan vote to decide who moves on, yes that is you.  Check back daily at 12 PM eastern time to vote for the next matchup, and voting is only for 24 hours.  As they say in Chicago vote early and vote often.

After Alabama, TCU and Florida...

Oregon may be the 4th best team in the nation right now.

not out of the question

Oregon is really, really good. Too bad we will never really know.

I'm not saying Oregon should be higher up....

But I thought Florida was overrated all year.

Only losing THREE starters from the USC game. (Offense and Defense)
Ladies and Gentlemen your 2010-11 Oregon Ducks.

With Apologies To Randy Edsall, The Big East Remains Mostly Harmless

FILE -- This is an Oct. 18, 2008 file photo showing Connecticut corner back Jasper Howard (6) trying to get the crowd into the game during the fourth quarter of an NCAA college football game against Rutgers, in Piscataway, N.J. Jasper Howard had his little sisters' names tatooed on his chest. His friends say it was a constant reminder of why he was at U Conn _ to provide his family with a better life than the one he had in Miami's Little Haiti. (AP Photo/Mel Evans, File) link
