Poinsettia Bowl Open Thread: #23 Utah Utes vs. Cal Golden Bears

The Mountain West is looking to go 3-0 in their bowl season so far, and tonight features Utah who has done a great job in a rebuilding year while Cal is an up and down team that realistically beat Utah by 15 or lose by 15 just depends who shows up.

#23 Utah vs. Cal 8PM EST

Scouts, Inc. gives a slight edge to Utah in this game, but not sure how the linebacker spot is better on Cal then Utah, but what do I really know. They also have the Utes winning 23-17 which would extend their bowl winning streak to nine.

ROJO would have had him if he did not slip

Cal not wanting to be there!!

Come on!! Call them inconsistent not bored. Plus they just gave up 24 straight, any team would not want to be there if that happened to them

These announcers aren't exactly on their "A" game.

Well, when you can’t figure out the difference between a 2-yard and a 12-yard completion, then refer to Utah’s defense as Cal’s defense, I hope it’s not your “A” game.

agreed

also going into the tunnel, Heather Cox asked him what they’ve done differently on defense.

You could tell that Whit took umbrage. Not verbatim, but he said, "We’ve only given up seven points. The others came from a pick six so that’s no on the defense."

Somebody please teach the announcers how the AQ process works.

There’s no decision about divvying money vs. cutting out a different conference if the MWC gets the AQ. The rules are already set.

Utah has run 54 plays to Cal's 34.

I smell a tired defense in the fourth.

too easy

time for offense to get a TD, no more FGs

Unfortunately, it's a one-score game again.

Thanks to that penalty calling the one touchdown back and having to settle for a field goal, Utah has left 11 points on the field this half.

wow

6 plays, 77 yards. Utah definitely gonna bigger points on the board.

Really!!

Trying that play again. So Wildcat 1st down, that pass on 2nd, so Wynn needs to save the day on 3rd down.

How big was that Wyoming win?

At 3-0, the talking heads are going off on how good the MWC conference is. If it’s 2-1 and a Wyoming loss, it’s all about how good the top three of the conference are. There are still two to go, but as of today, the rhetoric is about the whole conference, which is where the MWC really wants it to be.

Come on, Zoomies!

With Apologies To Randy Edsall, The Big East Remains Mostly Harmless

FILE -- This is an Oct. 18, 2008 file photo showing Connecticut corner back Jasper Howard (6) trying to get the crowd into the game during the fourth quarter of an NCAA college football game against Rutgers, in Piscataway, N.J.
