This should be a good one tonight, and if the game gets out of hand bust out your best Mormons in Vegas jokes!
BYU Cougars vs. Oregon State Beavers 8PM EST
Lets see if Oregon State is going to come out strong or will there be some kind of let down after missing out on the Rose Bowl apperance. Expect the scoreboard to light up and bring your commentary here during the game.

Wind might help BYU
BYU’s pass defense is suspect, but the wind might force the Beavers to the ground game where Cougars have the advantage.

Right now, it's almost a shame that bowl games are irrelevant for BCS inclusion consideration.
The metric is based only on regular season performance, but the MWC is certainly helping themselves in the P.R. department right now. Here’s hoping it keeps up.

I'm undecided about that.
On the flipside, the bowl games aren’t divided evenly among the conferences. For example, the SEC can send their #9 and #10 teams to bowl games, while the MWC only sends their top few.
But also, being a BCS conference is supposed to be a reward for being a conference with proven depth and ability to win in the regular season.
I see arguments both ways.
Why are the Mountain West bowl games so early?
Three of our five bowl games are before Christmas. Would be nice to spread it out a little bit. And not have to play on weekdays. Looks like a small crowd for Utah-Cal tomorrow.
ESPN, probably.
They have almost all of the non-BCS games under contract, so I’m sure that ESPN makes the schedule based on what they think will be the best-viewed times. And perhaps they like knocking out the west coast games early.
But I wouldn’t know exactly why.
bad bowl deals
Blame Thompson for the leagues matchups that are against bad teams and dates. Independence bowl is post Christmas so that helps. Mwc needs to get teams in the sun bowl and insight bowl. Both are better dates and teams

BYU needs to calm down and play with discipline.
The last thing they need to do is end this game on an ugly note.
