Gary Patterson on the Dan Patrick Show Talking About his New Contract

Today TCU head coach Gary Patterson made it official that he signed a new contract through 2016 with no buyout and is worth $2 million per year.  Coach Patterson appeared on the Dan Patrick Show earlier today

"I've been here 12 years. I've shown my loyalty to TCU," Patterson said. "And I asked them a year ago to be able to give a little bit back. I never said that I'd never leave. But on the other side of it, I've been here a long time and I've never left.

"This has been my home up to this point as much as a football coach can call a town and a school a home."

gary patterson has shown loyalty something that is rare indeed in college football

he deserves a big contract and i hope he guides his team to a huge victory in whatever bcs bowl they give him. he will do the mountain west conf. proud. everytime i hear him i am impressed. did you see the purple pyramid. it has one more piece to go before it gets all purple.

Yes

they showed it during the game against Utah on either GameDay or CBS College possibly both. What is scary is that next years team should be better. They return most of their RBs, a pair of all-conference OL, Andy Dalton, Jimmy Young and Jeremy Kerley

Hopefully Utah is better too.

That game might be bigger than it was this year, and hopefully closer to how it was last year on the field.

they lose their three best defensive players (tcu)

utah should be better if they run the pure spread offense with t. cain. i just like the fact that he can run much better than wynn. we don’t need to throw the long ball. i want lots of slant routes and jailhouse breaks like we did in the sugar bowl year. let t. cain throw 5 -15 yard passes and let the wr’s do their job. utah gets lucky in another aspect. pitt is breaking in a new qb. n.d. is breaking in a new coach and qb. we have tcu and byu at home and byu loses their four best players. i just hope coach whittingham see’s the difference in the team that went to the sugar bowl and this team that is probably headed for the vegas bowl. 10-3 is still good and we keep the nine game bowl streak plus three teams in the top 25. that will be one more than the big east.
