Aztecs (4-2) crush Northern Arizona (2-2), 89-48.
The Aztecs finished with 6 players in double figures in the points column. Malcolm Thomas led the way with 21 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 assists. Kawhi Leonard had the team's other double-double posting 10 points and 10 rebounds to go along with an assist, a block, and 2 steals.
Tyrone Shelly (17 points 4 steals), Kelvin Davis (11 points), Chase Tapley (11 points 5 assists), and Billy White (12 points 2 steals) round off the double figure Aztecs.
Junior PG DJ Gay had a career high 7 assists and is begining to become the point guard that the Aztecs lost in Richie Williams. Freshman PG Chase Tapley is also learning and racking up the assists with 5 of his own.
The inconsistent Aztecs shot 56.3% from the field and also limited their turnovers to a season low 7. The Aztecs are seemingly unbeatable when they shoot well and limit mistakes, but it has been tough for them to do so so far this season. The Aztecs also recorded a season-high 19 assists and 12 steals which hopefully means they are starting to come together as a team.
The Aztecs play next on Wednesday at San Diego for the city championship. The Aztecs have dominated San Diego in recent years and look to continue that against a strong USD team.

Great to see them bounce back like this.
Just wish they didn’t pull a Chargers and blow it vs. Pacific.
