Aztecs take down Fresno State, 62-58
Behind some clutch free throw shooting down the stretch from Billy White (22 pts 8 rebs) and Tyrone Shelley (17 pts 6 rebs) the Aztecs managed to win a close one on the road against the Bulldogs.
After starting the game on an 8-0 run, the game was closely contested most of the way, Fresno State taking a 4 point lead into the half. Billy White tied the score 56-56 by sneaking behind Fresno State's zone for a put-back following a missed 3-pointer with 1:59 left and his free throws put SDSU ahead for good, with Tyrone Shelley giving the Aztecs the 4 point advantage with 2 seconds left to seal the victory.
The Aztecs improve to 2-0 in West Coast Classic action with two games to go in the event. SDSU has remaining West Coast Classic games at Pacific on Wednesday and vs. Northern Arizona on Saturday.
