The AP and coaches polls are out with the Harris being released later today. At the top TCU gained only six points in the coaches poll while Alabama lost 34 points, not that really matters because if they win out then the heading to Pasadena.
The AP poll is similar and is not relevant toward the BCS standings. Utah fell quite hard from 14 to 23 while BYU who escaped with a victory over New Mexico. Even though TCU beat the best opponent out of the top four quite easily they did not get much credit in the polls for demolishing then #14 Utah. All TCU needs is a shot to prove the belong.
As simple as it seems that a Texas loss or an Alabama or Florida loss pre-SEC title game should do it. The college football system that does not give good undefeated teams a chance is busch league. TCU, Boise, and Cincinnatti all could be undefeated and not even have a shot, because the teams: Florida, Texas, and Alabama were all ranked ahead of them in the preseason polls. Even the coveted plus one would not solve this because, there can still be five undefeated teams and the loser of the SEC title game would be let out.
How is USC still ranked? They get demolished by Stanford and Oregon sandwhiched between a poor perfomanced win over Arizona State. The only good thing about the Trojans falling is that the Las Vegas bowl will have more intrigue if the Trojans go there and matchup against either BYU or Utah.
The only other rant I have that is Fox does not put out the BCS standings at the same time each Sunday. They unveil them after their last football game which today is after their double-header game concludes.
