The Wyoming Cowboys Men's basketball team is ready to open up the season against the South Dakota State Jackrabbits. Game time is 7:30pm MST at Arena-Auditorium in Laramie.

The Cowboys have been outstanding in season openers posting a 69-35 record over the last 104 years. The Cowboys have won the two previous matchups with South Dakota State that were played during the 1960's in Laramie.

The Jackrabbits return all five starters from a team that went 13-20 last year. The top scoring threat is G Garrat Callahan who averaged 15.8 pts a game last season. F Kai Williams is a inside scoring threat for the Jackrabbits. Both Callahan and Williams are in the top 25 scorers all-time at South Dakota State.

The size and athleticism of the Cowboys should create a number of mismatches against the Jackrabbits. Djibril Thiam showed that he is ready to take his game to the next level with 24 points in the exhibition against Regis. Afam Muojeke is looking to build off his Mountain West Freshman of the Year campaign.
