Week Seven Blogpoll: Who Really is Good?

The Blogpoll is set up by MGoBlog and is a collection of bloggers who actually watch the games, which is more then what the coaches, AP, or Harris poll voters can say. The poll is so respected that CBS Sports is behind the poll and it is posted along side the polls that actually count. Here is an explanation of the Blog poll from Brian himself.

Adjustments were made by adding in the absent Iowa in the 12 spot.  I think that is accurate they had to block back to back field goals to beat Northern Iowa, and then they gave up 14 fourth points to hang on to beat power house Arkansas State from the Sun Belt. Their best win is a ten point victory over Arizona who is some 22nd in the BCS rankings.

Then I tossed out Nebraska and inserted South Carolina, mainly because of a decent record.  Yes, Idaho is staying the polls partly because they are 6-1 and the bottom five spots are a real toss up so why not give some live to the Vandals who historically have been one of the twenty worst football teams year after year.

TCU at four! Again, why not their defense is amazing, and for the tools on Sporting News Radio last Saturday who said TCU's offense is just ehh.  Look at the numbers they are 16th in the nation in scoring offense and 30 or more points in four games.

i looked on an east coast college football blog and amazingly saw idaho in most of their rankings

for once they are paying attention to some west coast teams other than usc. they did have tcu at around ten but that’s probably b/c they beat two of their teams in that conference.

Idaho

They havent beat anybody real good. Their best win is CSU, but still 6-1 deserves respect.

Utah's best win might be CSU too.

I mean, our wins are USU (1-5), SJSU (1-5), Louisville (2-4), UNLV (2-5), and CSU (3-4). Not exactly a who’s who of great programs.

Idaho actually has wins over some teams with better records on their schedule (NMSU is 3-4 and Northern Illinois is 3-3). Not saying NMSU and NIU are better than Louisville, but their records are better.

Everyone hates a pink-shirt-wearing communist.
