Early Recruiting: TCU Horned Frogs

TCU is slowly becoming the third best team in the state. They will never surpass Texas on a yearly basis, but they will be able to be on par or above other teams like Texas Tech and Texas A&M out of the Big XII. Also, being in Texas helps TCU to get players who may have been overlooked by the 'bigger' programs even though those players are good enough to play in BCS leagues, but they choose TCU to stay close to home.

Recent success over the past decade have helped raise TCU's profile, and this team has had six seasons of 10 wins or more since 2000 and only one losing season in that time.

The five recruits are all from Texas and to no surprise four of the five commits are on the defensive side of the ball. Defense is where TCU has shined under Gary Pattersons coaching career in Fort Worth.

TCU is already the 2nd best team in the state. The Horny Toads could beat Tech, Baylor and those miserable Aggies at the same time.

I agree on the field they are betetr, but in recruiting they are behind Texas, Texas A&M, and Tech.

Entirely a matter of perspective. If TAMU’s recruits never produce Ws on the field, doesn’t that mean they weren’t that good in the first place? TCU has done better against common opponents. We have a very strong record against Big XII teams. Frogs beat TT 2 years ago and will do it again over the next few seasons. Aggies too scared to play us.
