Colorado State Hires new coach

[digg=http://digg.com/football/Colorado_State_Hires_New_Coach]The Rams have made their decision on the new coach for the football program, and the new coach will be Steve Fairchild who is the Buffalo Bills Offensive Coordinator and will stay with the Bills until the season ends and then take over the Rams. Fairchild played QB at Colorado State and was the quarterbacks coach from 1993-1997 and then offensive coordinator from 1997-2001 where he then left for the NFL.

This is a good hire for the Rams, because for one he is a former player who was an All-WAC selection as QB and more importantly Fairchild was there in Fort Collins during the teams most successful run in team history that included conference titles and bowl wins. For the Rams to get an NFL offensive coordinator was a great move for the Rams and his closeness to program and his success in coaching overall brings another good coach to Colorado State and to the Mountain West Conference.

Yeah, I hate to see him go! Just when our offense was starting to pick up this year.
