Week 9 Preview

This weeks slate is light with the BYU/San Diego State game being postponed this gives us 2 games on Saturday.

War Memorial Stadium 12PM MT TV: The Mtn.

This is the perfect game for Wyoming to end its free fall this year. Being at home against a not so good opponent in UNLV. Wyoming must protect the ball better against this team, because that has been the downfall for the Cowboys. In this game if there are turnovers new QB Omar Clayton, who has been impressive, will have chances to pull off the upset. UNLV does have weapons to compete with Clayton, WR/PR/KR Ryan Wolfe, and RB Frank Summers to win, but the only way the Rebels will win is if Wyoming coughs up the ball. Wyoming should not have a problem with this game, because their defense is quite good, but beware of the turnover. That being said Wyoming will be back on track and take care of business.

Star-divide

Sonny Lubick Field at Hughes Stadium 3:30 PM MT TV: The Mtn.

So the Rams are on a high after putting up a great performance for their first win of the year. For the Utes, playing in Fort Collins has never been easy for them, just go back to 2005 when the Utes could not get the winning score by having 1st and goal on the one, and then back in 2003 the Utes needed a fumble return for a touch down to win that game. Even though Colorado State has one win they have weapons, especially at the running back position with Gatrell Johnson III, who has become the main back, as well as the always dangerous Kyle Bell. The Ute defense will have their hands full against the run game. Caleb Hanie has been inconsistent at best with having costly turnovers and bad decisions and needs to have an accurate day for the Rams to hang around. The Utes seem to finally hit their stride, Darrell Mack has been the MVP so far this year, Brian Johnson's arm is nearly 100%, and the defense is putting things together. Even saying that this game seems scary for the Utes, on paper this should be a Ute win but then again see: UNLV. For the Utes to take care of business they need to strike first and make the Rams pass the ball, because that is their weakness. As for the Rams they need to pound whoever they want at the tail back spot to control the time of possession to wear out the Utes. For the prediction the Utes should win by 14 but the game will be close until the 4th quarter.
